unit 34 gif

introduction: for this task I was asked to plan and create a gif that is realistic and captures the audiences attention.

firstly I opened up adobe photoshop and created an a4 page. on this page I drew some cloudes with lighting shooting down from it

after I drew a few clouds the next step was to draw a plane with the pen tool and then colour it with the paint brush tool to make it a realistic as possible. after that I created new frames and drew more images so it looks like a continuous motion as if the plane is soaring through the sky. I also used the paint bucket tool to colour in the background so it look like the sky at night.

Once I finished my gif I exported it and had the whole class review it and give feedback. Majority of the class gave me some good reviews such as the animations is smooth and the pictures are well drawn which makes it look realistic.

the gif was about how anything could happen at any moment. in the go it shows a plane flying straight but then it gets struck by lighting and comes crashing down.

This is the timeline that shows all the sequence of each frame of my gif and how many seconds each frame is.

unit 64 task 1

Motion graphics: motion graphics are pieces of digital footage or animation which create the illusion of motion or rotation, and are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Motion graphics has been used in films, dramas and animated movies to create non-existing characters and give them life.

Compositing: compositing is the combing of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene.

Example of motion graphics:
Alfred Hitchcock psycho:

In the opening sequence of Alfred Hitchcock’s psycho during the title sequence it uses lines to fade in and out the text

There are many uses for motion graphics and compositing which is used throughout the media industry for example in Alfred Hitchcock’s psycho during the title sequence he uses motion graphics to create lines through the title after it appears in away making it fade.

There are many uses for motion graphics and video compositing now days, which are used all over the media, for example in DVD interfaces, shown here on the left, which uses examples of both motion graphics and video compositing, as there are animated graphics on the screen, and there are images of characters composited onto the background.

Another example of the uses of motion graphics and compositing can be seen in title and credits sequences, animated captions, stings, idents, interactive menus and web banners Title sequence:
