Motion graphics: motion graphics are pieces of digital
footage or animation which create the illusion of motion or rotation, and are
usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Motion graphics has
been used in films, dramas and animated movies to create non-existing
characters and give them life.
Compositing: compositing is the combing of visual elements
from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all
those elements are parts of the same scene.
Example of motion graphics:
Alfred Hitchcock psycho:
Alfred Hitchcock psycho:
In the opening sequence of Alfred Hitchcock’s psycho during
the title sequence it uses lines to fade in and out the text
There are many uses for motion graphics and compositing
which is used throughout the media industry for example in Alfred Hitchcock’s
psycho during the title sequence he uses motion graphics to create lines
through the title after it appears in away making it fade.
There are many uses for motion graphics and video
compositing now days, which are used all over the media, for example in DVD interfaces,
shown here on the left, which uses examples of both motion graphics and video
compositing, as there are animated graphics on the screen, and there are images
of characters composited onto the background.
Another
example of the uses of motion graphics and compositing can be seen in title and
credits sequences, animated captions, stings, idents, interactive menus and web
